NO RACISM IN SPORT (NORACIPORT)

Racism explanation with media, politics, society, education and justice.

It is more explanatory to examine the sub-headings of media, politics, society, education and justice under the umbrella of sports.

Justice: The aim of this activity is to raise awareness of the participants, who are from different cultures and who are completely unfamiliar with each other, that they must be fair in any case, by destroying their prejudices. The activity is planned as a tournament programme. In this tournament, which is planned to last for one day, it is designed that foreign participants form teams and that other participants serve as referees and coaches. At the end of the principles of the teams, the sense of solidarity and competition within the team, the awareness of the participants will be made aware of how ineffective the racial differences are in sports.
Media: The media not only helps racism become a world problem, but it can also eliminate it with the same effect. The aim of the activity created with this thought is to use the unifying power of the media. The activity will start with small demonstrations of traditional sports by participants from different sports cultures. Afterwards, each participant will be expected to present examples from local media in their own country that promote racism. After these presentations, a workshop is held under the title of "Preparing the News Title and Content". At the end of the activity, the opinions of the participants about the direction of the media will be taken.
Politics: The aim is to raise awareness among the participants about the political background of racism in sports. After the activity, it is expected that it will be understood how effective the manipulation is in this regard. In the activity, it was planned to establish experimental-observation groups and to give training to one group on this subject and not to give it to the other group. In this way, it is designed to measure the prevention of racism, which is effective in politics in sports, through education. It is expected that this measurement will be realized through the interviews that will be made to all groups on the subject both before and after the activity. The content of the activity, on the other hand, includes observing what happened after the slogans chanted by the provocateur extras who were consciously inserted among the fan groups during a match and intervened where necessary.
Education: Researches contain evidence that racism, like every basic problem, can be eliminated with education. Therefore, the basis of this activity is the importance of education. The activity begins with each participant making a presentation about the sports education curriculum in their country. After the presentations, with the democratic decision of the participants, “Which value given in education prevents racism?” It is planned to determine two basic ideas for the question and then, the participants, who are divided into groups, will have a debate on these two basic ideas. It is also planned to share the report created as a result of the debate with the relevant authorities.
Society: Racism shows its effect on sports when the feelings of national and racial loyalty go to extremes. Based on this context, within the scope of this activity, it is aimed to raise awareness about the effects of social extremism on sports and athletes. The activity was designed to use creative drama techniques. First of all, it is planned to compare the reaction of the participants in this event with the reaction of the athlete in the original event, by asking the participants to imagine that they are in the place of the athlete who experienced this incident, considering that the conditions of the previous racist incidents were met. After this comparison, feelings and thoughts will be reported. After this improvisation activity, the consciousness corridor activity is planned. In this event, it is planned to focus on the psychology of athletes who are exposed to racist discourses and supportive discourses by the society before the competition. At the end of the whole activity, it is also planned to shoot videos in which the thoughts of the participants are taken.
