Neighbors

Creating a foundation for high school students to take part in a comprehensive process in addressing relations and concerns between communities in israel

Neighbors program creates a foundation for selected Arab and Jewish high school students to take part in a comprehensive process in addressing relations and concerns between the two communities in the Galilee region. The end goal of the meetings is to carry out a public project or activity in their communities, schools, media or elsewhere, demonstrating a community involvement.
We are seeking two European partner schools for the following reasons:

· To open the group’s minds to the different experiences of youth in other countries, and how those youth address their own challenges in their societies.

· To realise that they have both similarities and differences with another group of youth in another country, and appreciate the uniqueness of each.

By Euromed policy we have to partner with at least 2 different European countries, to be eligible to apply.

The deadline for applications is July 30th, so we want to find the the right partners quickly.

This is a 2 year program for 10th graders (this coming year, age: 14-15 ):

Year 1 (This coming academic year) - to host in Israel the 2 European groups

Year 2 (by then they will be 11th graders) - To meet and to be hosted in Europe.
