iDEMO designed a training course to help youth workers deal with danger related with radicalisation tendencies in the EU and its potential but detrimental consequences.
We believe it is essential to develop a culture of tolerance and respect for human rights in all aspects of society, particularly regarding minorities, disabled or politically/ideologically different opinion holders/ makers. However, nowadays, we meet challenges of huge dimensions that are directly related to the perception of the Other and rise of radical and extreme behaviour and policies in many European countries.

With respect to the topic and aim, we see youth trainers here as leaders of moderation course of society through an open, democratic dialogue that will empower youngsters as important society thinkers and contributors, and infuse them with needed knowledge for transnational and deradicalised perspective and comprehension of life and societies that are in constant change.

The training course “Negotiating Moderation“ is designed to give youth workers methods and competencies for teaching negotiating/moderate culture and diplomacy (policy) that can be used as an instrument against radicalisation tendencies in EU countries that are met in everyday life.

During the training course, the participants will look into different concepts of federalism and moderate policy and its positive impact to human well-being as well as to radical concepts through history and nowadays whose course led to exclusion and deprivation of certain groups and ethnicities in society. The aim of the course is to train and prepare youth workers to act on different levels towards more inclusive society liberated from radical roots and populism, by exchanging their gained knowledge and experience with diverse targeted population while serving their communities.

The training course will be held in Zagreb, Croatia in June 2017 and it will gather 25 participants.
