# Nature as Teacher

**Nature as Teacher** is a 15-day Erasmus+ Youth Exchange for young people aged 18–24 from different European countries, hosted by Nature Community in Germany.

The project explores how nature can become an active learning environment for personal, social and civic development. Through experiential and non-formal learning, participants will explore self-awareness, resilience, personal resources, boundaries, cooperation, intercultural understanding and personal agency.

The programme consists of **13 programme days plus 2 travel days** and follows five interconnected learning dimensions:

**NOTICE** – awareness and observation
**ROOT** – body, resources and boundaries
**ADAPT** – resilience and change
**CONNECT** – relationships and community
**ACT** – agency and participation

Participants will learn through nature experiences, outdoor activities, movement, reflection, creative practices, intercultural exchange, peer learning and community activities. Nature is not simply the setting of the exchange; it is an active part of the learning process.

The Youth Exchange is strongly participant-centred. Young people will contribute to the preparation, shape parts of the programme, work in international groups, lead peer activities, participate in collective decision-making and reflect on their learning throughout the exchange.

Intercultural learning is embedded in everyday group life. Participants from different European backgrounds will share perspectives, traditions and experiences while learning to communicate, cooperate and navigate differences.

The project also promotes inclusion, environmental responsibility, digital awareness and participation in democratic life. Young people with fewer opportunities and little previous international experience are encouraged to participate.

**Youthpass** is integrated throughout the project. Participants will identify their personal learning outcomes and develop a concrete follow-up action to transfer their experience into their local community.

Nature as Teacher aims to create a learning experience that continues beyond the exchange: young people return home with greater awareness of their own resources, a stronger sense of agency, new European connections and the confidence to turn learning into action.
