Project financed by Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange Fund Mobility to Lithuania Goal:a new, fresh perspective on folklore. Polish - Lithuanian folk traditions

Dear Friends,

We are currently looking for a partner to implement a project financed by Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange Fund. Below you can find major information about project:

The title: PL: "NASZ JEST TEN FOLK!"; ENG "THIS FOLK IS OURS!"

Main goal: The main goal is to integrate the participants, strengthen cooperation between countries, break stereotypical thinking and engage young people of both nations in getting to know each other's cultural heritage in the field of Polish and Lithuanian folklore, art and folk tradition as well as cultivation and popularization of this traditions. Noticing the existing differences, but also the similarities between them.

Project length: 7 days

Mobility is scheduled for June or July
Detailed objectives:
a new, fresh perspective on folklore;
learning about modern folk art (music, art);
saving folk traditions from oblivion;
understanding one's own cultural identity;
learning responsibility for the culture of one's own community and increasing participation in culture in a conscious and creative way;
getting acquainted with different ways of looking at folklore and methods of presenting it on stage;
learning folk crafts;
improving communication skills in terms of presentation and self-presentation in the mother tongue and in a foreign language;
better ability to work in an international group, and consequently also the courage in contact with foreigners and self-esteem;
development of tolerance and respect in relation to cultural, religious and moral differences;
broadening the knowledge of the culture, customs and traditions of the partner country;
promoting Polish-Lithuanian historical and cultural heritage as well as dialogue for cooperation, tolerance, openness, better understanding and getting to know each other between Polish and Lithuanian youth;
an increase in openness and curiosity about the world;
growing importance of non-formal education
use of modern technologies.

The main activities will include:
- the creation of a Polish-Lithuanian folk hit list by young people;
- workshops on traditions and folk art of both nations;
- folk decoupage workshops;
- creating an album of Polish and Lithuanian folk customs in 3 languages;
- integration evening with the attractions such as: fairy tales and songs singing by the bonfire especially these ones connected with folk and regional traditions, forest baths;
- culinary workshops, during which young people will learn about traditional and modern regional cuisine;
- organizing a city game "folk inspirations" during which we will involve the local community.

From our partner we expect:

- help in adapting the idea to the socio-cultural realities;
- organizing a group of recipients - teenagers 15 - 18 years old;
- orginizing a premises / space where activities could take place;
- implementation of training / workshops on topic of your choice (in the field of folk);
- assistance in the implementation of activities, promotion of the event and active involvement in the project;
-close cooperation with the project coordinator;
- helping to disseminate the project's results;
- ensuring logistics and project care - before the arrival of the group, during and after departure;
- help in finding suitable accommodation and local transport;
- continuation of cooperation by submitting an application for a visit to Poland.

Main staff/persons involved in this project:

Anna Iwańska - president of the PRO FUTURO foundation, philologist of Serbian and English and a graduate of Polish as a foreign language teaching. Privately, a lover of travelling and discovering culinary tastes. Assistant coordinator and coordinator in projects co-financed from EU funds. Speaks English - thanks to which she helps project participants in adapting and solving problems. She is experienced in coordinating project documentation, cultural tours, transport and certificates.

Patryk Kujawa - activist associated with the foundation, graduate of the Opole University of Technology in the field of Logistics and a graduate of the first degree of Collegium Nobilium of the School for Leaders and the Creative Center of the Opole University. He has extensive experience in the field of social and civic participation and volunteering. The organizer of the first international conference on participation and volunteering in Opole and the originator and creator of the Opole volunteering portal. Local government activist responsible for conducting training courses on social and civic participation, Coordinator of many ministerial and local government projects
