My dress my Choice

"My Dress My Choice" explores fast fashion, sustainability, traditional attire, and dress codes, empowering youth to make ethical, informed fashion choices.

"My Dress My Choice" is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project designed to explore the rich and complex relationship between fashion, identity, culture, and ethics in today’s rapidly changing global landscape. The project will address key themes such as the environmental impact of fast fashion, the role of traditional and cultural clothing (such as the burka, hijab, and other headdresses) in challenging Islamophobia, and how traditional garments from various cultures influence contemporary fashion trends. We will also examine topics like sustainability in fashion, ethical production practices, the pressures of dress codes in different contexts (from schools to workplaces), and the impact of fashion on personal identity and body image. Through creative workshops, discussions, and collaborative activities, participants will engage critically with these issues, learning about ethical fashion choices, cultural sensitivity, and the importance of sustainability. We are seeking partner organizations committed to youth empowerment, cultural exchange, and environmental advocacy to help us build a platform that promotes awareness, understanding, and social responsibility in fashion. Together, we can inspire a generation of young people to make mindful fashion decisions that respect both people and the planet.
