MUSIC YOUTH EXCHANGE

We want to work about discovering the other, discovering other cultures and ways of life.
The music will be the main activity ; Other art forms such as theater or visual arts can also be associated with the project.
The peer learning is also an aspect of the project that we want to promote. This will require : workshops, active participations, encourage and stimulate the involvement of young participants (sharing knowledge, skills: dancing, cooking, music, art ...)
The animation methods are to build together; different techniques could be mobilized as workshops, role plays, discussions, management of collective life ...
At the end of the exchange, a show or a festival could be organized to highlight the exchange.

Now, there is nothing strictly defined about the project. We want to build this with partners and young people who will be involved in.
We are considering music and art as a way to produce a meeting and to get an experience together of interculturality.

The group will be from 13 to 17 years old with mixed composition.
We are working with a group of teenagers from 13 to 16 years old. They are studying in the music training center (after school) and they already have some musical skills.
They are living in the country side, 15 kilometers far from a 20 000 inhabitants city and 60 kilometers from Lyon city.
The people living there have fewer opportunities of cultural, sports and leisures activities. They are living away from a city center and there is no public transportation. Because of that, young people tend to stay in their village and they are not often confront with other cultures, ethnicities, ways of living.
