Multilingual Minds Multicultural Lives

This project aims to encourage language learning, increase intercultural dialogue and the sense of EU citizenship by using various non-formal education tools.

The relationship between language and culture continues to be the subject of recent research, attracting the attention of sociologists and anthropologists. Through this project, we wanted young individuals to experience the importance of language learning and the positive impact of multilingualism and multiculturalism on individuals and society at first hand. One of the fundamental thoughts behind this project is the European Union motto: “United in Diversity”. The European Union has 24 official languages. However, there are many local dialects and languages brought by the migrants. It is estimated that citizens of at least 175 nationalities are now living within the European Union’s borders. This diversity needs to be well understood to widen our perspective of the people and the world. Based on this data and the motto’s perspective, we aim to enable young people to gain a positive perspective on language learning and to increase the intercultural dialogue.
