Training focused on movement, embodiment and contact-based practices in youth work, with resilience and mental health emerging through bodily experience.
The training explores how movement, contact improvisation, physical play, balance and simple acrobatic elements can foster trust, emotional regulation, cooperation and resilience among young people. The approach aligns with the Erasmus+ Programme Guide ( by promoting innovative, inclusive and experiential learning methods.
Main Learning Objectives
Participants will:
• deepen embodied awareness, presence and connection to the body
• experience contact improvisation as a tool for trust, boundaries and communication
• explore movement, balance and simple hand-balance elements adapted to all levels
• understand how physical experience supports resilience, stress regulation and emotional expression
• design movement-based activities transferable to youth work settings
Methodological Approach
The programme is built on:
• daily movement and contact improvisation sessions
• progressive, inclusive physical exploration (no prior experience required)
• outdoor movement and learning in natural environments
• reflective practices linking bodily experience to resilience and wellbeing
• Youthpass reflection and learning outcome mapping
Here, movement is the starting point, and resilience, self-awareness and mental health are emerging outcomes of embodied experience.
Target Group
5 Youth workers, trainers and facilitators who:
• already use or want to introduce movement and embodiment in youth work
• work with groups where trust, cooperation and expression are key
• are interested in body-based approaches to resilience and inclusion
European Added Value
The project strengthens European youth work by sharing innovative embodied practices, fostering cross-cultural trust and expanding movement-based methodologies within Erasmus+ youth work.
