Move and Dance

Move and dance is a youth exchange which aims to make young people think about the connection between interculturality and dance. The main theme is folk dance.

Overall Object :

The main theme of our project is folk dance. We are going to work on folk dance with our participants during the project. We will learn folk dance of each country everyday with participants
who come from different countries. We would like to invite many young participants from around the Europe to the youth exchange that we would like to organize.

Youth Exchange objectives:

1. Acquire or enhance participants' knowledge in the fields of music and dancing;
2. Raise the knowledge of the traditions and cultures of the countries involved in the project through their respective dances;
3. Strengthen the awareness about European citizenship among the youth;
4. Improve the knowledge of foreign languages, especially of French and English;
5. Develop the interest on the application of formal and non-formal methods for the promotion of projects in the field of arts and dance;
6. Improve the technical and digital skills of the participants.

Methodologies:

During the seminar we will use methodologies such as: working groups, workshops, round tables, role games, reflection groups. As result of the project the participants will make a show with all the dances learned.

Dates: FROM MONDAY 5 SEPTEMBER TO SUNDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2016
Number of Participants: 35
4 youth + 1 group leader per country (no age limit for the leader)
Number of Countries: 6 + 1 (France)
Working conditions:
! Working days: 5
! Travel days: 2
! Travel expenses: travel tickets will be reimbursed at the return of the participants back in their countries, within the limit of the Erasmus+ lamp sums;
! Accommodation and food: 100% covered by Erasmus plus funds;
! Participation fees: no participation is required from the participants;
! Materials: provided by the coordinating organization. Other material can be brought by the participants;

Team composition:
- 4 young people + 1 youth leader per group.

Partner’s Profile:

Tambour Battant will choose its partners according to the following criteria:
- Non-profit organizations, youth organization and/or informal group of young people;
- Experience in creation of event and/or project for the promotion of art and culture, at local/international level.
- Experience in the youth field;
- Experience with people with few opportunities;
- Knowledge of English and French languages in order to facilitate the communication;

Participants’ Profile: Youth between 16 and 30 years old who have different sensitivity to music or dance, as well as youth with fewer opportunities interested in artistic activities. No languages skills are required for the participants. However, the youth leader should have a basic knowledge of English or French.
