Mind the Screen

A Training course empowering youth workers with tools for digital balance, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles in their daily practice

Young people spend more and more of their daily lives online — for school, social interaction, and entertainment. While digital tools bring opportunities, excessive screen time and unhealthy online habits are linked to stress, anxiety, sleep problems, and reduced physical activity.

Youth workers are in a unique position to support young people in developing healthy digital habits, but many lack practical tools and methods to address this topic.

This project aims to equip youth workers with competences, tools, and non-formal methods to address digital wellbeing, healthy screen time, and balanced lifestyles in their work with young people.

Main activities:
- 7-day Training course in Austria (hosted by the coordinating organisation).
- Sessions on digital citizenship, healthy digital habits, mindfulness & mental health, gamification, physical activity & digital balance.
- Workshops led by trainers using non-formal learning methods.
- Exchange of best practices among youth workers from across Europe.

Follow-up: Each participant will run at least one local workshop in their organisation/community using the tools and methods learned.
