Mentoring for Employability

Context of the project:
According to Eurobarometer’s 2019 Survey “How do we build a stronger, more united Europe? The views of young people”, young people perceive boosting employment to be among one of the areas the EU should focus more on. The survey also shows that a large proportion of young people do not consider the schools to be sufficient in preparing them for employment.

Partners consider mentoring as a valuable tool in filling the existing gap between the ability of formal education systems to prepare young people for employment and the expected knowledge, skills and competencies by the job market. In this respect, partners believe that youth workers and youth organizations can play an important role in increasing young people’s employability and career prospects through mentoring practices in a non-formal setting.

Objectives:
- To deepen youth workers’ understanding on the importance of mentoring for employability,
- To provide youth workers and youth organizations tools, methods and techniques in mentoring young people for employment,
- To provide youth workers examples of mentorship practices in actively supporting young people’s sense of initiative and entrepreneurship,
- To promote quality improvements in youth work through enhanced cooperation between organisations in the youth field.

Activities:
In order to achieve the project objectives, the project entails a Training Course activity that will take place in Slettestrand, Denmark. Each partner organisation shall send 4 participants to the activity.

Selection procedure:
We will consider for this call only organisations that submit an Expression of Interest at: https://eu.jotform.com/build/200223161421940

We will select from amongst the organisations that give a detailed account on how the project is relevant to theirs and their beneficiaries' needs.
