Make democracy great again

Young people are easily influenced when their identity formation is in progress. Since populism is rising, democracy in Europe has declined more than in any other region according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) latest statistics. In order to understand these trends and be able to help young people develop their political identity in light with opposing information, it is essential to exchange knowledge and practices between the youth workers of Programme and Partner countries.

Thus, the aim of this project is to promote democracy and increase youth workers competences upon supporting young people in their political identity formation. Below are the underpinning objectives to achieve the aim:
•Make youth workers reflect upon the benefits of democracy
•Provide youth workers the necessary knowledge and tools to promote democracy among young people
•Give and exchange best practices upon promoting democracy
•Provide youth workers the necessary knowledge and tools to be able to give young people a clear understanding upon populism and its effects on democracy
•Foster young people’s awareness in political questions

Activities:
1. Study Visit (November 2019) in Denmark including 30 youth workers
2. Training Course (September 2020) in the Republic of Moldova including 30 youth workers

The target group of both activities are youth workers from the partner organisations, who are motivated to fight against populism and promote democracy among young people. Each organisation is expected to send 3-4 youth workers.
