NEXUS-STEM: Empowering students to use Science & Tech for a sustainable future. We bridge the gap between theory and practice through Green Living Labs.
Greetings from Altıeylül Science High School (ALFEN) in Balıkesir, Türkiye. Our students are at the age of 15-18. Like many schools in Europe, we face a challenge: "Too much theory, too little action."
We are looking for partners for our new project proposal.
THE CONCEPT: NEXUS-STEM aims to transform students from "Test-Takers" into "Change-Makers." We will create "Living Labs" in our schools where students use STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) to solve real-life environmental problems (Energy, Water, Waste), reducing exam stress through meaningful hands-on action.
OUR GOALS:
To train teachers in Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) and Green Pedagogies.
To establish Student NEXUS Labs for prototyping green solutions (sensors, 3D designs, eco-models).
To organize Science Camps & Hackathons (Student Mobilities).
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We need 2 or 3 reliable partners with complementary strengths:
A School: Experienced in nature-based education, sustainability, or outdoor learning (Finland, Estonia, Sweden, etc.).
A VET/Technical School: Strong in practical engineering, workshops, or robotics.
An NGO or Expert Organization: Specialized in STEAM methodologies or Environmental Education.
We plan to submit for the upcoming deadline. Please send your PIF and your motivation to: cananavanzengin@gmail.com
Let's engineer a greener future together!
