Looking for Morgana

“Looking for Morgana” is an exploration of the world of the popular literature and legendary. We could think that the Legend of King Arthur belongs to the cultural heritage of Northern Europe only. Actually we can find lot of elements and character of “Matter of Britain” (King Arthur, Morgana, The Kingdom of Avalon and the sword Excalibur) in many areas of the Mediterranean Europe.The aim of the project is induce an intercultural communication of the young people comparing the different knowledge about legends, tales and mythology showing that folklore can be a great way of communication and enjoying free time and arguing about the common originations and traditions of the European People . So, we are looking for young people who wants improve non-formal teaching skills and have experience in literature. The result of this activities should be a performance of foreign fairy-tale and a short movie that should be performed by those young people.
Our project aims to:
- To compare groups of young people from at least three EU countries and thus foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries;
- To promote young people's active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular;
- Strengthen social cohesion;
- Develope the experience of non-formal methodologies, in particular knowledge of stories,writing and creating comic books, dramas and short movies, developing the creativity of the young participants.
The place will be in Italy, in Cefalù(Sicily) in September 2013
Each country will send 8 pax (18-25) + 2 leader (18-30).
Food and accomodation will be provided by the European Commision, and 70% of the travel expenses will be reimbursed..
Each country is kindly asked to include in the team at least 2 persons with one of the fewer opportunities listed below.
