Learning Through Dramatic Situations

Learning Through Dramatic Situations is an Erasmus+ KA1 Youth Workers Mobility training course that focuses on the use of theatre arts and drama-based methods as tools for non-formal learning in youth work.
The project explores how dramatic situations, fiction and theatrical structures can be used to open real-life themes relevant to young people, such as relationships, responsibility, decision-making, identity, uncertainty and social pressure. Drama is understood not as artistic production or performance, but as a structured educational approach that creates distance, perspective and space for reflection.
During the training, participants will experience and analyse a range of drama-based activities and theatrical situations, working with role, space, action, tension and imagination. The learning process is based on non-formal education, experiential learning, peer exchange and structured reflection, supporting participants in understanding how these methods function and how they can be transferred into their own youth work or educational practice.
The project is designed for young and motivated youth workers, group leaders and educators with an artistic or creative orientation, who work with groups of young people in cultural, educational or community contexts. It offers them a space to deepen their practice, exchange perspectives in an international group and strengthen their ability to use theatre and drama as meaningful learning tools.
The training will take place in Liberec, Czech Republic, in September 2026 and will bring together participants from six Programme Countries. The project does not aim to provide psychological or therapeutic approaches, but to support learning through artistic and dramatic situations within non-formal education.
