We represent Korfball Club of the Association for young people La Rotllana which is situated in the city of Badalona, specifically in the neighborhoods of Llefià and La Salut. Our Korfball group consists of 9 participants from 16 to 21 years old, and 2 monitors.
In the beginning of November 2012, we were inspired to unite into a group of people who would organize projects with the aim of encouraging participation in korfball. Today, the group is comprised of 10 people who practice korfball on a amateur level participating in the Catalonian Korfball League annually as part of Badalona Korfball Club. The most recent projects of ours include: Korfball Tournament of Besós River, Beach Korfball Tournament, promotions of korfball in educational establishments of the city, organizing Football Tournament for fundraising purposes and sustaining of ongoing projects.
We would like to organize an international exchange abroad the main objective of which is to promote korfball. Preparations for this project will be carried out during a middle academic year of 2013-2014, so that an exchange project can be organized successfully and the participants from the guest country and host country can meet in the host country for the period of 7-10 days to share experience through informal practices and learning. An exchange project is planned for the summer of 2014, between July and August. Our main objectives are: to learn more about korfball abroad, emerge into the culture of another country, share experience, exchange ideas, establish new contacts, and get to know young people who are as passionate and interested in this sport; and finally promote korfball as a kind of sport that encourages equality among people, but not practiced by many nowadays.
We plan on the following activities during this international exchange:
• exchange of methodology for trainings and knowledge about korfball
• discussing and learning about new methods of promoting korfball
• visiting prominent places of the city to learn about the culture of the host country
• teaching participants from the host country aspects of our culture
