Keep calm and learn through play

The project aims at building new methodologies to involve children in "learning through play" sessions that can be experienced in formal and non formal contexts

Play helps children develop the intellectual, emotional, social and creative skills that are of lifelong benefit to them and their communities. We believe that play based learning sessions at an early school stage could prevent school drop outs and create concrete skills that will help children in their growing process.

The project aims at three main objectives:
- share "learning through play" methodologies tested in different countries;
- make young volunteers, social workers and teachers able to create play based learning sessions for primary school children;
- create and test three play based learning courses in order to experiment new methodologies and assess the activities impact on children;

The project will carry out training sessions, godd practices exchange and the operative management of three play based laboratories in three different countries (and in three different contexts: school, formal aggregative spots and in non conventional aggregative settings).

The project activities will reveal how for both, children and adults, play is one of our favourite ways of learning. Play enables us to explore, practice and try out ways of tackling similar challenges in the real world. Skills like problem-solving, creativity; empathy, communication and teamwork all have their foundations in play.
