Our KA220 Project's main goal is to educate and empower young people on climate change adaptation so they can speak up and make a difference.
The fact that climate change will create a result on the planet transformation process beyond the expected
natural effects requires taking measures as soon as possible to mitigate the negative consequences we face.
Climate change, which is an issue beyond an environmental problem on a global scale, will continue to affect the world in the long term. It has been scientifically proven today that in the next few decades the planet will
face an increase in temperature and changes in precipitation patterns.
The main objective of our project is creating well informed youth on climate change adaptation, giving them right skill set to raise their voices and make their own contribution on the issue. Also, after our first phases of project which aim to inform and educate youth on climate change through training camps and activities our
participant will have necessary skills and awareness on the topic in order to create Strategy paper.
Youth should be key stakeholders in the decision-making processes that impact their future. They offer
invaluable contributions through their unique skills, energy, vision, and ideas to help shape climate change
adaptation measures and policies.
It is vital for youth to be able to engage in adaptation processes on a local, national, international,
intergovernmental, and individual level.
Therefore, Our main 3 key focus areas are;
1. Awareness and Training: Training Camps for Climate change adaptation awareness
To engage in adaptation, youth need to be aware of the science and impacts of climate change, the different
institutions and mechanisms addressing these impacts, and the ways they can participate in them.
2. Capacity-building and empowerment: training activity on funding proposals, leadership and entrepreneurship
Awareness and training will be the first step in our project, but it needs to be followed by building capacities
among youth for adaptation action, skill development, and participation in local, national, and intergovernmental climate change processes. The capacities and skills needed encompass a wide range, from navigating institutional structures to writing funding proposals and monitoring and evaluation processes.
3. Policy dialogue/policy suggestions and carbon footprint offset programs 2 training/working camp
-Decision-making and advocacy-
There will be different avenues of youth engagement to influence policy-making, allow youth to raise their voices, and enable them to participate in political and social processes.
Climate Change Adaptation Summit:
After two working camp we will organize one summit to disseminate our results with the public and other key
stakeholders.
A summit meeting is important to introduce the strategy paper developed throughout the project term and to
find synergies among the attendees in order to expand the impact of the project to further levels.
