KA153 SmartSteps – Young Routes to Digital Health

KA153 We are combining this critical concept—which we must confront both individually and collectively—with the power of digitalization.

In the coming century, health will no longer be defined solely as a medical concern—it will become a social line of defense. The global proliferation of infectious diseases, public health risks triggered by the climate crisis, rising antimicrobial resistance, and escalating mental health issues will create a complex and multilayered threat landscape that directly affects individuals, families, and entire societies. This intricate web of threats will necessitate not only resilient health systems but also the active self-defense capacities of individuals, particularly among younger generations.

It is precisely at this point that our project, which centers on the "Mental Health and Well-being" priority of the Erasmus+ Youth Programme, aims to leverage the opportunities offered by digital transformation to enhance young people's mental resilience, internalize healthy living practices, and expand access to psychosocial support mechanisms.

Why? Because although young people are growing up in the digital age, they often lack sufficient support when it comes to dealing with stressors such as misinformation, social media pressure, and loneliness in online environments.
Our solution? To equip youth with the skills to use digital tools consciously and with a focus on health—thereby enhancing their individual well-being while simultaneously fostering broader social awareness.
