KA153 Active Citizens of the Future: Professional Capacity Building for Youth Workers

In the current European climate, the revitalized Lisbon Strategy has placed active citizenship at the heart of the European policy agenda.

In the current European climate, the revitalized Lisbon Strategy has placed active citizenship at the heart of the European policy agenda. This strategy underscores the importance of values, democracy, and civic participation as central elements of a thriving society.

Active citizenship involves individuals taking responsibility for their communities and engaging actively in social, political, economic, and cultural spheres. Active citizens are those who are informed about their rights and responsibilities, participate in democratic processes, and advocate for social justice and equality. They play a vital role in contributing positively to their communities, engaging in democratic activities, and addressing social issues.

By fostering active citizenship, we build a stronger, more inclusive, and democratic society, where individuals are empowered to make meaningful contributions and drive positive change.
