KA1 Our planet from top to bottom! Astronomical and geological sciences at the service of young people's ecological ambitions

Science is an essential tool for understanding natural phenomena, analyzing their causes, and developing effective solutions to address major environmental and climate challenges. Offering younger generations the opportunity to embrace this method is our main goal with "Our planet from top to bottom! Astronomical and geological sciences at the service of young people's ecological ambitions". Through a series of workshops and a science fair in a multicultural environment, the participants will immerse in the wonders of astronomy and geology, fostering curiosity and a deeper understanding of Earth's natural processes and cosmic influences.

By organizing interactive workshops, hands-on experiments, and engaging discussions, partners will play a key role in equipping youth with the knowledge and tools to tackle environmental challenges. We can inspire future scientists, raise awareness about planetary conservation, and encourage proactive solutions to climate-related risks. This project would increase the likelihood of making science an engine of change for a more sustainable future.

General objective :
The aim of this project is to raise awareness among young people about the importance of sciences, particularly astronomy and geology, for a precise understanding of our planet, and subsequently, inspire them to take an active role in protecting it.

Specific objectives :
-Offer the participants hands-on experience in astronomy and geology workshops to gain knowledge about how our planet and the universe works
-Encourage young people to be aware of how studying our planet and the universe can help us combat current climate challenges in Europe.
-Raise awareness among participants about the impact of humanity in climate change.
-Introduce young participants to the role of the European Space Agency (ESA) in researching outer space.
-Facilitate collaborative spaces for young people to discuss how to be more sustainable and promote European solidarity in finding global solutions.
