K220 - AI in Balance – Protecting Youth from Uncontrolled AI

Empowering youth to face AI risks with education, creativity & policy action for a safer digital future.

AI in Balance – Protecting Youth from Uncontrolled AI is an Erasmus+ K220 initiative designed to empower young people to navigate the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence. The project addresses pressing challenges such as misinformation, privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and the mental health effects of uncontrolled AI use.
Through a structured set of activities, the consortium will first research and map how AI impacts youth across Europe. Based on this evidence, partners will co-create educational resources, including an AI Safety Toolkit and open educational materials for schools, NGOs, and youth workers. Local Youth Empowerment Labs will engage young people directly, enabling them to explore AI’s influence through creative campaigns, debates, and peer-learning.
The project will culminate in a European Youth Forum on AI & Ethics, where young people’s voices and experiences will shape concrete policy recommendations. Dissemination and sustainability strategies will ensure long-term adoption of results.
By combining research, education, creativity, and policy dialogue, AI in Balance aims to foster resilience, critical thinking, and responsible digital citizenship among Europe’s youth.
