Just for a while

The project will explore contemporary migration through the experiences of people whose lives have been shaped by international mobility over the past three decades. The project will look beyond traditional perceptions of migration, focusing on the connections between mobility, life choices, identity and belonging. Particular attention will be given to younger generations, people with international mobility backgrounds and those growing up across different cultural contexts. Through non-formal learning and intercultural exchange, participants will explore how living across borders can influence individuals, families and communities over time. The project will encourage young people to challenge established ideas about who is considered a migrant and reflect on how mobility has changed European societies and identities.

Objectives:
- To explore how international mobility and migration have shaped individual experiences, identities and senses of belonging across Europe over the past three decades.
- To increase young people’s understanding of the diversity and complexity of contemporary migration, challenging stereotypes and conventional perceptions of who a “migrant” is.
- To encourage intercultural and intergenerational dialogue about mobility, cultural identity and belonging, while strengthening young people’s openness, empathy and sense of connection across borders.
