JoHiDic (Not seeking for partners anymore)

JoHiDic is an innovative digital platform developed to strengthen youth participation and evidence-based policymaking in municipalities. This tool is designed to support youth services by collecting up-to-date and representative data on young people’s needs, interests and concerns. Through a simple registration and short, easy-to-answer questions, the app offers real-time insights while also providing participatory features adapted to digital habits. Enhanced with gamification, JoHiDic helps municipalities, schools and organizations design more effective youth policies and initiatives, particularly in rural areas where participation is often limited.

Today, local youth services face the recurring challenge of lacking up-to-date and representative data about young people’s realities. This gap makes it difficult to design projects, programmes or participatory processes that effectively respond to diverse and rapidly changing contexts. The application addresses this by offering a dual function:

Systematic and dynamic data collection – through short, structured questions classified by thematic areas, JoHiDic allows youth services to continuously monitor the needs, motivations and concerns of local young people.

A participatory channel adapted to digital habits – young users can engage in focus groups, community initiatives and local projects based on their answers, ensuring a direct connection between their input and real opportunities for participation.

To encourage ongoing involvement, JoHiDic integrates gamification elements, offering a points-and-rewards system that can be redeemed for cultural and leisure benefits (e.g. cinema discounts, access to youth activities). This mechanism boosts motivation while ensuring a steady flow of relevant data.

The project is conceived as a cross-cutting tool for youth offices across Catalonia and the world, with a special focus on rural areas where youth participation is often harder to achieve. Partnerships with schools, public institutions and private actors will expand outreach and guarantee representative data collection.

Ultimately, JoHiDic seeks to:
- provide constant statistics on youth realities,
- detect emerging issues early on,
- better understand motivations and needs,
- and improve youth programmes, workshops and public policies.

Through this project, we aim to build a stable and shared framework that empowers youth services, amplifies young people’s voices, and fosters more inclusive, responsive and impactful youth policies across Europe.
