Is Social Media Our Parallel Universe (European Youth Together)

Youth from Europe unite to explore social media’s impact, improve digital skills, and promote responsible tech use through workshops and cultural exchange.

This project is a gathering that aims to bring together young people from different European countries to examine the effects of social media and technology on our lives in depth. Participants come together to raise their awareness on this issue, improve their digital literacy skills and learn methods to combat problems such as cyberbullying. Throughout the meeting, young people will participate in workshops, seminars and group discussions on various topics such as the psychological effects of social media, technology addiction and conscious use of technology. In addition, they will have the opportunity to get to know different cultures and improve their teamwork skills through intercultural exchange events and nature-friendly activities. This meeting aims not only to provide information to young people, but also to contribute to their personal and social development. Participants will be encouraged to become more conscious and responsible technology users by disseminating the knowledge and skills they have acquired during the meeting in their own environments. At the end of the meeting, participants are expected to be better equipped to make the most of the positive aspects of social media and technology, while protecting themselves from its negative effects. Within the scope of the European Youth Together action, the project aims to promote cooperation between youth organizations, increase the democratic participation of young people and support European values. In addition, in line with initiatives such as the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus, it aims to help young people design a sustainable future. By supporting the mobility of young people and non-formal/informal learning opportunities, the project aims to contribute to their personal and social development and improve the quality of youth work in Europe. The project also aims to reflect young people's experiences and views on the use of social media and technology in youth policies. Participants will promote the more active participation of young people in decision-making processes by presenting their findings and policy recommendations to local, national and European youth platforms throughout the project.
