As the Association of Global Disabled Entrepreneurs, we are seeking partner organisations for our 8-day Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project.
Our project aims to:
- Strengthen the participation of young people with and without disabilities in sports, cultural and artistic activities together and on an equal footing;
- Develop young people's coping methods and resilience skills when faced with disasters caused by climate change.
Through this youth exchange:
- To break down societal prejudices and stereotypes regarding disability,
- Discuss why disaster and emergency plans need to be accessible and inclusive,
- Equip young people with concrete skills in climate justice, disaster preparedness, and a culture of solidarity,
- Strengthen social bonds between disabled and non-disabled young people through collaborative production.
The project includes:
- Inclusive sports workshops
- Group games and movement-based activities suitable for different abilities
- Inclusive sports activities that every young person can participate in according to their own abilities,
- Cultural and artistic activities,
- Collaborative art workshops, nature-based activities,
- Creative drama and theatre activities,
- Music-based inclusive workshops,
- Climate crisis, disasters and coping strategies,
- Discussion sessions on climate justice and disability,
- Barriers faced by disabled individuals in disasters and emergencies and solutions,
- Inclusive disaster management and solidarity-focused simulation/role-play activities,
- Local visits and best practices,
- Meetings with the Bursa City Council Disability Assembly and relevant local actors,
- Examination of innovative and inclusive local practices open to youth participation
are planned.
Non-formal learning methods will be used throughout the activities, and the active participation of young people will be fundamental.
Expectations from the target group and partner organisations:
Our expectations from partner organisations:
* Must be from one of the 28 EU countries or 8 programme countries.
* Must be associations, foundations, NGOs, sports clubs, cultural-artistic institutions, municipalities or youth groups working in the field of youth and disability.
* Must be able to send a mixed group of disabled and non-disabled young people from their countries.
* They must carry out work related to at least one of the following areas: inclusion, human rights, climate/environment, disaster management, sports or arts.
* They must be willing to carry out dissemination and follow-up activities in their own localities after the project.
The working language of the project will be English.
