Using sport and European mobility to foster inclusion, solidarity and intercultural exchange among young people with and without intellectual disabilities.
The main objective is to promote social inclusion and European mobility through sport and travel, by bringing together young people with intellectual disabilities and young people without disabilities in a shared experience abroad.
Project objectives:
• Foster social inclusion and solidarity between young people from different cultures, with and without disabilities.
• Promote European values of respect, equality, and tolerance through sport.
• Encourage mobility, active citizenship, and intercultural discovery.
• Highlight sport as a tool for education, health, and social inclusion.
Sport as a driver of inclusion:
• It creates social bonds and helps break isolation, especially for vulnerable groups.
• It encourages diversity, cooperation, and the overcoming of prejudice.
• Sport is often the first way to make contact with young people in difficulty or with disabilities.
Benefits for young participants:
• Physical: improved health, mobility, and well-being.
• Mental: self-confidence, motivation, and self-esteem.
• Social: teamwork, openness to others, and a spirit of solidarity.
• Cultural: discovering another country, intercultural learning, and developing autonomy.
Link with European objectives:
• Promote a Europe that is inclusive, supportive, and open to diversity.
Conclusion:
Our Erasmus+ project aims to show that sport and international mobility are powerful drivers of inclusion, personal development, and European citizenship.
By enabling young people with disabilities to have an inclusive sporting and cultural experience abroad.
