How to become a lighthouse in the community

Subject: Provide tools to trainers for training youth about creating a system for community support, network building or helping each other; becoming a lighthouse in the dark. But also to give the trainers tools to become more efficient in their training.
To be alert but not to engage in fear. To inspire them.
How to get the best out of the youth, directed towards supporting the other.

Objective: To use Social Permaculture methods as a tool for youth work.
Duration; 7+2 days.

Where are we directing at:
We like to give trainers tools to empower youth to become lighthouses in their immediate environment and communities.
In a time where our daily life is harshly affected by covid-19 virus, the future is greatly unsure. No one knows how even the near future will look like.

In this time many people have to deal with loss, uncertainty about their basic needs and future options, many people have the tendency to wait and see what will happen. This does not only happen in this situation with Covid19, the current time asks this in many situations; like in places of war or conflicts, problems and possibilities which come up with climate change, natural disasters, and so on.

What we need now is that people step up in solidarity and help each other to meet their basic needs and to hold hope for the future. We need people who give direction on creating this new future, to open up possibilities for others to move on with resilience, and are brave and grounded enough to take the initiative to take the lead.

This course is meant to train trainers to be able to inspire others to step forward in this process. A process that gives space to dealing with their own emotions; not to let it take them down, but to be able to step up and recognize the needs of others and direction to be able to fulfil these.
