Historical intangible multicultural heritage fostering immmigrants education

The project focuses on the intercultural education of new immigrants through the educational awareness of historical records of intangible cultural heritage.

Intercultural Education prepares students as citizens of a multicultural society, fostering mutual respect and acceptance of diversity and plays an important role in the education systems of European countries by promoting the smooth integration of pupils from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Achieving this goal requires a very painstaking effort and the close and constructive cooperation of many actors, such as political leaders, scientists, managers of education and training, the bodies of local government and parents.
Within this framework, the role of future teachers, who are called to manage in a multicultural classroom students of different ethnicities, different cultures and cultural identities, is particularly important. A valuable help for the above-mentioned effort in the area of historical learning and art, through which a multicultural dimension can be attributed to pedagogical practice, is to show tolerance, mutual respect, and liberal faith in freedom and self-determination of each individual. In particular, acquaintance with the intangible cultural heritage of different ethnicities through historical recordings with active action by students and alumni of the Pedagogical Departments and the multicultural classroom pupils' potential can be a springboard for balancing social inequalities, reducing discrimination and facilitating social inclusion of students within a multicultural society
The project has two main Specific objectives:
1. The training of the young candidates educators for the Secondary Education of the participating European countries.
2. Organize educational actions to exploit historical records of intangible cultural heritage through art for new immigrant groups to promote the values of reciprocity, real solidarity and social equality.
