Heterotopia Tour - An ECO-Idea(l) in action

The “Heterotopia Tour” (referring to M. Foucault’s concept of “Heterotopia”, “hetero” = other ; “topos” = place) is a very enriching experience to any youngster, specially through the gathering and consequent sharing of young people from different contexts and different backgrounds such as: age, culture, gender identities and social status; By living this intense collective experience where they will have to use their flexibility and adaptability skills which will definitely make them understand the importance of intercultural competencies, as well as the importance of diversity in the thin balance of life.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO UPDATE OURSELVES INTO A MORE ECOLOGICAL LIFESTYLE!

“The Heterotopia Tour- an ECO-Idea(L) in Action” introduces the participants to an ecological lifestyle, a step by step methodology with suggestions which they can bring back home and apply them no matter what context they come from. This Youth-Exchange its an opportunity to learn practical know-hows on how to reduce one’s ecological footprint, to distinguish from what is essential for human development from unessential, to adapt and help mitigate climate change major crisis, to engage in collective environmental regeneration actions and to become pro-active citizens especially in the fields that concerns them most at the moment which is Climate Change and future Job Opportunities (the youngest generations are struggling with anxiety of their future basic needs, adaptation to an unknown climate future scenario and their own survival, if we collectively don't change things fast enough).

It will be a camping journey of 14 days from 29.03.2020 till the 11.04.2020, travel days included!

It will happen at our Headquarters - Fazenda de S.João, Ludo, Loulé, Faro; we have Ecological basic infrastructures such as an outdoor kitchen, solar showers and dry toilets. The venue is on the edge of the Natural Park of Ria Formosa, one of the richest biodiversity wetland systems of Portugal with a beautiful surrounding coastal forest.
