Helpers on permaculture farm

Help in our permaculture soil farm, ran by volunteers, to explore and promote a sustainable lifestyle with crafts, animals, garden, food processing, ...

We are two cooperating farms at 8 km distance, in the Flemish part of Belgium, each inhabited by a family with two teenage kids and some volunteers.
Boskanter wants society to change radically so that living within the boundaries of the ecosystem becomes easy and self-evident.
Resilience, cooperation with nature, fair distribution, low-tech and 'local where possible' are parts of our solution. We’re not a productive farm. We grow vegetables for our small community, if there’s enough volunteers to do so, and give surplus to the poor. We’re experimenting with energy (rocket stove), ecological construction and crafts. We organize activities such as an open door, crafts evening, workshop or workday. We host some young people for a time-out. We have some animals (dog, cat, chicken, sheep, horse or donkey).
Volunteers help with activities, garden and food processing during the busy summer months.
They can also work around personal projects in line with our principles.
Long term volunteers (up to twelve months) can take more responsibility in running the garden, hosting guests, communication and organizing activities. There will be more opportunities to learn crafts and eco-construction.
