The aim of the project is bringing together physical and mental health.
According to Canadian Mental Health Association, Mental and physical health is fundamentally linked. Being physically active improves self-esteem and cognitive function in young people, reduces psychological distress and decreases depression. The data of World Health Organization shows that 27% of European Union adult population had experienced at least one of mental disorders in the past year, such as eating disorders or depression. It is very important so teach the youth to take care of their both physical and mental health. While learning how to balance physical and mental health youth will be encourage to reach deeper understanding of each other as well as finding the similarities and unities between different culture and background people. Getting the knowledge and improving their soft skills, youth will improve their entrepreneur skills which will help them to improve their communication on a daily basis and will help to choose healthy discussion as a problem solving tool.
The main objectives of he project are:
- Raising awareness among young people about the importance of the both physical and mental health care
- Promoting alternative physical and mental activities as more convenient and attractive way for youth to maintain their health
- Strengthening soft skills to improve ability recognize personal and other people emotions
- Achieving a deeper understanding in the society of people facing mental health problems
- Exchange of views and ideas how to improve mental and physical health in work and school environments
- Increase self-empowerment and self-esteem by learning how to take care of mental and physical health in everyday basis
- Reduce the stigma of mental health issues and raise awareness of its importance in the society
- Increase entrepreneur skills while learning how to have proper discussion as a key to successful communication in multicultural environment
As the part of Erasmus+ programme, this project also find the importance of enhancing intercultural awareness on the specific physical and mental health awareness topic. Also, one of the objectives of the project is to increase motivation for taking part in future training after the mobility and to share their experiences on this particular topic in the future. While working on physical and mental health topic, project participants will try different alternative sports and mental health maintenance sessions such as meditation or group discussions.
