Health and Addiction in a Conscious Society

The aim of the project is to open a discussion about the use of addictive substances and the consequences it has on the person and society.

Young people are more likely to engage in risk-taking behaviour, and are therefore most vulnerable to trying out and becoming dependent on addictive substances such as alcohol, nicotine, drugs. Awareness and open discussions play a crucial role in ensuring that young people are able to make informed and responsible decisions. However, the current school education fails to provide that.
Research shows, that peer-to-peer learning is the most effective way to educate young people on the subject, as they are more engaged and more likely to listen to someone close to their age.
The aim of our project is to create a safe and non-judgemental environment to open up a sincere educational discussion between the participants.
We hope that during the project the participants will:
-Learn about the role of intoxicating substances in different countries
-Be aware of the effects substance abuse has on individuals' health, and on the society
-Know how to cope with peer pressure
-Know about the ways how to help someone who has struggles with addiction
After the end of the project, participants should be able to confidently engage in discussions about this topic in their own social circles.

The duration of the project will be 10 days and it will take place in Estonia.
