Gym4Focus is a movement-based intervention project using gymnastics to support focus, self-regulation, and cognitive development in children with ADHD.
Gym4Focus is an innovative movement-based intervention project that harnesses the power of gymnastics to improve focus, emotional regulation, and executive functioning in children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Designed by educators, sport psychologists, and movement specialists, the project combines structured physical activity with evidence-based learning strategies to provide a holistic, non-pharmacological support tool for children with attention-related challenges.
The project targets children aged 6 to 12, aiming to enhance their cognitive flexibility, motor planning, discipline, and social interaction skills through gymnastics routines that emphasize rhythm, balance, repetition, and coordination. By using carefully crafted training modules, Gym4Focus promotes sustained attention, reduced impulsivity, and improved academic readiness — all while encouraging children to enjoy movement in a fun, inclusive, and safe environment.
Gym4Focus also includes a strong educational and training component for coaches, teachers, and families, providing them with resources to better support children with ADHD in sports and educational contexts. Through community workshops and transnational training activities, the project creates an ecosystem where sport becomes a key player in early intervention and mental well-being.
The initiative is well-suited for Erasmus+ Sport or Youth partnerships and welcomes collaboration with youth organizations, schools, special needs educators, and mental health professionals who are committed to inclusion and innovation in physical education.
