GreenByte is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project that YAKA Derneği plans to submit to the Turkish National Agency for the 1 October 2026 deadline.

The project will bring together young people from six countries to explore how artificial intelligence, online information and everyday digital habits affect individuals, cultures and the environment. Although young people often use the same platforms and technologies, their experiences, attitudes and behaviours are shaped by different social and cultural contexts. Without opportunities for meaningful exchange, these differences may remain unexplored and contribute to stereotypes, misunderstandings and uncritical digital behaviour.

GreenByte will create a participatory and inclusive learning environment where young people can compare their digital realities, examine AI-generated content and misinformation, question bias and stereotypes, and explore the environmental impact of digital technologies.

The project has four main objectives:

• strengthen participants’ ability to assess AI-generated and online content, recognise misinformation and bias, and make informed digital choices;

• develop intercultural communication, empathy and cooperation among young people from different backgrounds;

• increase awareness of the environmental impact of digital behaviour and identify realistic, sustainable digital habits;

• strengthen young people’s confidence in participation, shared decision-making and international teamwork.

The programme will follow a clear learning journey: group building, comparison of digital realities across countries, critical analysis of AI-generated content and misinformation, exploration of digital sustainability, international co-creation, Youthpass reflection and local follow-up planning.

Non-formal learning methods will include World Café discussions, digital-life mapping, case studies, fact-checking challenges, role-play, simulations, peer learning and the GreenByte Creation Lab. Participants will create youth-friendly digital resources and each national group will organise at least one local follow-up activity after the exchange.

The exchange is planned to take place in İzmir, Türkiye, with six participating countries. Each country will involve four young participants aged 18–30 and one adult group leader. The total group will consist of 24 young participants and six group leaders. The programme is currently planned for five activity days plus two travel days.

YAKA Derneği is looking for five reliable partner organisations from Erasmus+ Programme Countries. We particularly welcome organisations that work directly with young people, apply non-formal learning methods and can involve participants with fewer opportunities, including young people facing economic, geographical, educational, social or language barriers.

Selected partners will be expected to:

• contribute to the project before submission and during preparation;

• provide accurate organisational and OID information promptly;

• consult and prepare participants before the mobility;

• recruit a balanced national group and appoint a competent group leader;

• support travel arrangements, safeguarding and participant wellbeing;

• prepare a youth-led contribution on local digital realities;

• contribute to or co-facilitate agreed programme sessions;

• support evaluation, dissemination and local follow-up activities.
