Green solarcandle

We are the youth group; which consists from 2 organisations( Barkava vocational secondary school students council and local studying youth from association “Dzelvērte”). The organization is located in the upcountry of Latvia – in Madona region. This organization unifies interests of almost 250 youth at the age of 16 – 25; base number of activists is 12 – 15 people, sex proportion – 50:50. We work at the field of non-formal education since 1998. There were exchange programs with young people from LT, EE, FIN, BE, PORT, FR and other countries. Now we work together with association “Dzelvērte” because objectives and directions of our activities are very related.

We are hastily looking for exchange partners to1.05.2013 deadline from different countries for 3-way or multilateral exchange “Green solarcandle” in Latvia for 6-7 days from the beginning of August in 2013 till the end of second or third week of the August (33. or 34. week) or as a backup option - in October (- 41. week). Possible exchange themes: environment, decorative arts, historical heritage, sports, equal opportunities, prevention of discrimination and others themes where research, creative workshops, meetings and questionnaires, cooking and other practical activities (explore the national cuisine, national and regional traditions), dancing, militarized games, performances, intercultural elements, nature protection and other activities could be used following the recommendations of potential partners. Multilateral exchange “Green solarcandle” in Latvia to turn young people’s interest to environmental problems, activities interest in the society about ecological questions and promote environmentally friendly attitude both in economic and spare time activities.

Partners are expected to take active part in whole exchange”Green solar candle”/GreenSoLe/: and preparation of it. Main responsibilities are:

• Offer any ideas to ensuring exchange program content
• Taking part in on-line communication about the final shape of the exchange (connnected with getting to know each other)
• preparing one workshop (and conduct it during the exchange)
• sharing opinions, giving advices, evaluating project in national group etc.
