Get Safe!

Young people between the ages of 18 and 24 are more likely to have serious accidents at work than other older adults. It is time to have a safe job!

According to statistics managed by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, young people between the ages of 18 and 24 are more likely to suffer serious accidents at work than other older adults. They may be exposed to poor working conditions leading to the development of occupational diseases while they are still young or later in life. Being new to the workplace, young people lack experience and sometimes enough physical and psychological maturity. The risks we face may not be taken seriously enough. Other factors that put us young people at great risk include:
- Lack of qualifications and training.
- Ignore the obligations of the employer as well as their own rights.
- Lack of confidence to express themselves when a problem arises.
- Employers do not recognize the additional protection that young workers need.
This information has not only aroused our curiosity, it has alarmed us. To date, we had not realized the importance of this information or the consequences of carrying out our work (be it a company, an association or even an informal group of young people) in an unhappy environment, in a place where there are significant dangers for our physical or psychological integrity. All this has led us to promote this project.
This proposal is for a youth exchange to talk and debate about it.
