1- Detection of value change 2- Establishment of green job mentors and network
The REGENERATION25 project aims to identify the value change in the career goals of young people
between the ages of 18-28 living in cities between agriculture and technology and to encourage them
regarding green jobs. This aim will be achieved through the training of young people selected from
partner countries. In the first phase of the project, an online survey will be conducted to determine
the value change among young people. The aim of the online survey is to determine the tendency of
young people in their future plans between agriculture and technology according to the generation
theory. After this, the main challenges related to literacy related to green professions and career
planning in farming and agriculture will be addressed in online training groups to be designed in line
with the data. Green profession mentors to be selected from the groups will work and create a network to manage the value changes related to emerging green professions, work on trends, and locally direct
the future of the circular economy.
A green profession mentor network will be established on the www.regeneration25.com website to
be established.
All data will be shared on this website as the project progresses. In addition to disseminating the results
of the training process, the project will expand its scope through a series of events where more young
people will actively participate in the project, create connections and strengthen social cohesion.
It is confirmed that there is a general trend of limited participation in career planning in agriculture
among young people and low knowledge about green jobs (https://www.greenjobs.co.uk/). This
situation causes a new problem for the future of the climate with the decrease in green job literacy
levels, together with the ageing population and the lack of interest in career planning in agriculture.
This situation is felt more in cities that are intertwined with rural areas.
This project aims to develop literacy skills related to green jobs that are emerging in European green
policies, circular economy and to circulate ideas through mentors.
In this process, it is aimed to identify the value change among young people in the context of
generation change theory, to increase the level of literacy related to green jobs, to establish a green
job mentor network, to develop a methodology on urban farming and to create a data set for agefriendly urban design. Thus, the model is aimed to be replicable at national, regional and European
levels.
The overall objectives of the project are:
- To identify the value change of young people regarding career planning in agro-technology in
disruptive technologies, tourism and other sectors
- To improve young people’s literacy on green professions, to provide relevant tools and information
on green professions and to expand the means of comparing information
- Bringing together young people and decision-makers at local and regional levels, establishing a green
profession mentor network after online trainings
- Creating a network that will enable young people in the career planning phase to think and guide
them on the green future; ensuring that this network is digital and personal among young people from
the regions
- Preparing an age-friendly city dataset
- Expanding and developing the value exchange among young people on the green future
- Creating a methodology on urban farming
