Stimulating reflection on society and the future of Europe
The project is a youth initiative designed to strengthen cooperation and exchange of experiences among young Spanish and Icelanders regarding the following topics:
European Citizenship: Our project encourages reflection on European issues (euro crisis, banking law, the rights of European citizens, defenseless citizens, youth unemployment, mobility opportunities as European citizens, etc), work, therefore, a strong dimension Europe, stimulating reflection on society and the future of Europe.
Participation: Our project aims to encourage young people to be active citizens, as we work with the philosophy that a better future for Europe entails greater involvement of our young people in democratic life. We accomplish this by offering a space for interaction, avoiding, at all times, passive participation. Moreover, the origin of the project can be found in the concerns of young people themselves, unaware of concepts like "risk premium" but very worried about their future, but without being aware of its power. Young people who have joined the university and have no guarantee that their efforts will be rewarded with a job in the future, young people who left school but who had jobs in local companies, but they have been the first to lose in this time of crisis. Right now, they are lost and disillusioned. The exchange of information and ideas raised by the project lead, certainly, we hope, a change of attitude in the generation that has in its hands the future of Europe.
Activism: In the sense of participation, the importance of becoming active citizens, able to bring about change in society. Whether through a political and social participation through pathways that provides a democratic society, either through their participation in social networks, either through direct involvement in the creation of wealth through activities entrepreneurs, etc.. Any way, politically, socially and / or economically feasible to build the future of a generation.
