Gender play

The location of the programme is Tiszalök, 6 youngsters (18-25 years) from six countries participate during the ten days (36 people along with group leaders).

The main topic of the project is the prejudiceless, unbiased thinking among the youngsters between 18-25 years. The central issue is the youngster’s attitude about the other gender: the depth and seriousness of the stereotypes and prejudices. Our aim is to make changes in the mentality and thinking, help the gender equality and the solidarity.
Based on experience gained during the project we try to help all the participants how to think without stereotypes and prejudices about the other gender.
The project uses non-formal education methods based on creativity and teamwork and also put attention in the prejudiceless thinking and social equality. During the program the participants are find out and gain experience about how the other gender lives and what stereotypes make their life harder. The experience is not enough: they have the task to make a theatre play about the stereotypes and the typical situations. Their competences such as tolerancy, solidarity, creativity, empathy or organization skills are developing during the whole programme.
