From Zero to Hero

Concept:
Firstly, what Zero Waste means?
''Zero Waste is a philosophy that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. The goal is for no trash to be sent to landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. The process recommended is one similar to the way that resources are reused in nature.’’
Seems incomprehensible, tough or impossible? Here’re some facts: As of 2015, approximately 6300 Mt of plastic waste had been generated, around 9% of which had been recycled, 12% was incinerated, and 79% was accumulated in landfills or the natural environment. These are only numbers and statistics, they will not change anything, but we can.

What this project can change?
This youth exchange is aimed at people who want to get to know what zero waste is, how to apply its principles in everyday life and how to live in harmony with nature. Above all, we want to prove that Zero Waste is not difficult or impossible and everyone by making some changes can save the Earth.

Objectives:
- promote Zero Waste lifestyle,
- learn new ways of being more “sustainable” in everyday life,
- get to know how to reuse, reduce and recycle,
- improve knowledge in ecology and environmental sustainability,
- meet new people with the same interests and values,
- exchange best practices.

Participant Profile:
This project is designed for young people who:
- are between 18-24,
- are active and open for new knowledge and experience,
- are interested in the topic of Zero Waste and environment,
- want to change the world.

Additional info:
This project will include 25 participants, 5 from each country. Project will be lead in English. After the end of the project every participant and partner organization will be obligated to publish results of the project like photos on their social media.
