About the Project
“From Waste to Transformation: Applied Sustainability Workshop” is a practical Erasmus+ youth mobility project designed to equip young people with sustainable living practices. Bringing together the themes of culture, youth work, and nature, the project aims to enable participants to transform waste materials into creative products, deepen their environmental awareness, and develop innovative responses to the climate crisis.
The activities will take place at KOMEK (Meram Municipality Course Center) and private workshop spaces located in the city center of Konya, Türkiye.
Objectives
The main aim of the project is to help participants integrate sustainability practices into both their personal and professional lives while creating a positive environmental impact.
The project specifically aims to:
* Promote sustainable lifestyles through practical workshops
* Encourage the discovery of innovative sustainability practices across different professional fields
* Increase awareness of climate crisis and environmental responsibility
* Teach methods that support sustainable behaviors and eco-friendly habits
* Strengthen respect for diversity and intercultural understanding
* Explore the psychological barriers behind climate inaction together with expert psychologists and develop possible solutions
* Improve psychological resilience against climate-related stress and challenges
* Raise awareness about climate issues at both local and international levels
* Support the development of foreign language and communication skills
* Help participants reduce social anxiety and build self-confidence
* Provide information about EU projects and the Youthpass certification process
* Strengthen teamwork and international cooperation
* Promote awareness on migration, inclusion, and social solidarity within the framework of European values
Main Activities
The project activities will include:
* Upcycling Workshops: Practical workshops where waste materials are transformed into creative and useful products
* Local Community Interviews: Each participant will conduct short interviews with local people focusing on sustainability habits, upcycling awareness, eco-friendly behaviors, and waste reduction methods
* Psychology and Climate Crisis Sessions: Group activities led by expert psychologists addressing the psychological dimensions of climate inaction
* Cultural Presentations: Activities introducing the cultures of participating countries
* Production of Project Outputs: Preparation of an English project booklet and informative videos in the local languages of partner organizations
* Youthpass Sessions: Workshops focused on documenting learning outcomes and introducing European recognition tools

Arrival Date: 8 July 2026
Departure Date: 15 July 2026 (late departure) or 16 July 2026
Location: Konya, Türkiye
Participant Profile
Mandatory Criteria:
* Being between 15–55 years old
* Having no obstacle to international travel
* Being able to communicate in English (official project language)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Individuals with limited economic opportunities are especially encouraged to apply
* Interest in sustainability, youth work, and the project topic
* Experience in local or international youth activities
* Motivation and willingness to actively participate in project activities
* Openness to new experiences and intercultural interaction
Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided in shared rooms separated by gender. All meals and accommodation costs will be covered by the project.
Travel Reimbursement
Travel costs will be reimbursed according to the official Erasmus+ distance band rules. Distance calculations will be based on the Erasmus+ Distance Calculator between the sending organization’s location and Ankara.
Important: All travel documents (flight tickets, boarding passes, bus/train tickets, etc.) must be kept for the reimbursement process.
What Participants Should Bring
* Materials representing your culture (food, drinks, flags, handmade items, traditional souvenirs, etc.)
* Personal care products and suitable clothes for daily activities
* A personal laptop or tablet for project work and presentations
