From Walls to Bridges: Building Trust Through Youth Dialogue Between Armenia and Türkiye

From Walls to Bridges is a proposed Armenia–Türkiye youth dialogue and civil society cooperation project to be implemented in Istanbul and Yerevan. The project aims to bring together young people, youth workers, civil society representatives and experts from both countries to strengthen mutual trust, reduce prejudice and promote peaceful and constructive public communication.

Planned activities include joint youth dialogue sessions, workshops on discrimination, hate speech, media literacy and intercultural communication, as well as visible community-based activities in both cities. The project will also contribute to the development of practical recommendations and materials for youth organisations, educators, media professionals and civil society actors working on dialogue and peacebuilding.

We are currently seeking an active and reliable partner organisation based in Armenia, preferably in Yerevan, with experience in youth work, human rights, intercultural dialogue, peacebuilding, non-formal education or community development. The selected partner will be expected to contribute to the project design, participant selection, preparation and implementation of activities in Yerevan, dissemination and future cooperation.

This is not an Erasmus+ project. It is being prepared under a separate grant programme supporting Armenia–Türkiye normalisation and cross-border cooperation. However, we see this initiative as an opportunity to establish a strong and long-term institutional partnership. If the project is approved, we hope to use the experience and trust developed through this cooperation to prepare future Erasmus+, European Union and other international projects together.

Participants’ accommodation, meals, travel, transfers, visa and health insurance costs are planned to be covered within the project budget. No co-financing is expected from the Armenian partner organisation.
