Freedom to Movement- Tackling xenophobia and extremism through education and youth action

The main aim of this project is to contribute to fight against growing xenophobia and extremism of young people through education and youth action.

This project is a reaction to refugee crisis and the increment of hate speech, xenophobia against refugees and migrants and growing interest of young people in different extremist ideologies.

The main aim of this project is to tackle this issues through education and youth action, in particular by:
-improving quality of available tools which deliver topics as migration and HR to young people with focus on promoting intercultural understanding and tolerance, increasing media literacy of young people and their critical thinking and adapting them to current situation and challenges
-increasing specific competencies of youth workers which are necessary to lead successfully activities and project delivering main topics of project and manage group from different cultural and social background
-increase active involvement of young people in promoting European values as HR, intercultural tolerance and solidarity

Project will tackle this issues in complexity, in 3stages:

1.stage OCTOBER 2016Seminar will involve 20 youth workers from 10 countries (teachers, trainers, facilitators, educators) with experience in leading designing tools and activities in the frame of NFE with the aim of exchange experiences in work with young people at risk from radicalisation and create tool kit with activities focus on promoting intercultural understanding and tolerance, increasing media literacy of young people and their critical thinking and adapting them to current situation and challenges

2.stage –MARCH- Training Course- with the aim of increase their ability on the use of the tool kit previously created, lead groups (group management, conflict solving, teambuilding) of young people from different social and cultural background , facilitate educational activities and learning process of young people.

3.stage –APRIL –Youth Exchange -involving 25young people from 5 countries with the aim to promote European values as HR tolerance and solidarity and intercultural dialog.
The preference will be given to organizations working with young people with fewer opportunities.
The age of participants: 18-26
The group composition: 4participants +1leader (including 2young people with fewer opportunities from each country)

 All the activities are design as open non-formal education and learning process based on participants’
experience and exchange. Different methods will be used by trainers/facilitators to adapt the activities to different need and profile of participants and their learning style.

TARGET ORGANIZATIONS:
 We are looking for organizations which work actively on local and international level, promoting Human Rights, intercultural understanding and tolerance based in Programme Countries which are interested to share their experiences and best practice in these fields.

We will give preference to NGO working with young people with fewer opportunities.

-Partner identification form duly filled adapted to project
-Detailed description of previous experiences in creating of tools and activities (e.g. which topic was? please send us examples of activities or tools you have created)
-Short motivation why your organization want to be partner in this project and profile of young people to whom your organization is working with. If you work with young people with fewer opportunities please describe.
- To spread the result of project please could you describe which activities on local level you would be able to organize during follow up? How many young people approximately you would be able to reach?

Selected organizations are in charge of sending participants with experience in the youth work and eager to share their best practices and experiences during the Seminar and TC and later to spread knowledge among young people and run activities at local level. Participants have to participate actively during the Seminar and TC and be promoters of local actions once back to their own country.
