We are looking for a KA220-YOU partner organization that has extensive experience in promoting non violence culture and works in peacebuilding
In recent years, the issue of radicalization among young people has emerged as a growing concern in Europe and beyond. There has been an alarming rise in incidents of hate speech, attacks on marginalized communities, and violent extremist actions, highlighting the vulnerability of social cohesion in many societies. The ongoing refugee crises, along with the rise of nationalism and xenophobia, have further intensified tensions both within and between communities. As a result, there is an increasing demand for initiatives that encourage intercultural dialogue and provide young people with the skills to promote peaceful coexistence.
Radicalization, particularly among youth, can stem from a combination of factors, including social exclusion, perceived injustice, and exposure to extremist ideologies. These influences are often heightened in communities that lack access to diverse perspectives and intercultural exchanges. In addition, the digital world has become a fertile ground for extremist narratives, which are easily accessible to young people, further accelerating the risk of radicalization. Countering these forces requires a proactive approach that emphasizes education, dialogue, and nonviolent communication.
The role of youth workers, educators, and community leaders is critical in addressing the root causes of radicalization. However, many of these stakeholders lack the training and resources necessary to effectively engage with young people on issues related to peacebuilding and intercultural communication. This gap creates a pressing need for capacity building and the development of innovative tools and methods that can be used to prevent youth radicalization at an early stage.
Objectives
1. Promote democratic values and active citizenship among young people by fostering intercultural dialogue and providing tools for nonviolent communication to prevent radicalization.
2. Strengthen the capacity of youth workers, educators, and trainers to prevent radicalization through innovative educational materials and training programs.
3. Equip young people with the tools necessary for peacebuilding and coexistence
4. Create sustainable, open-source educational resources that can be used by communities across Europe and beyond to promote nonviolent communication and intercultural understanding.
