Food for thought: Sustainable Dieting

The connection between food and the environment, practicing sustainable diets, social, economic and environmental aspects of sustainable food systems.

“Food for thought:Sustainable Dieting” is a project that aims to inform the youth about the importance of making the right choices when it comes to our diet, how to distinguish different foods and their impact on our body and our surroundings. The importance of sustainable food systems in Europe, and the world in general is huge i.e. in preventing hunger, providing safe food, as well as improving its nutritional value, which in many cases today is catastrophic.

Through activities such as a day in the mountains gathering tea, and visiting local fruit and vegetable farms, we want to inform the youth about the importance of local, organic and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
With some of the workshops being held by nutritionists, the participants will learn about sustainable food systems that deliver food security and nutrition for all. In such a way that the economic, social and environmental bases to generate food security and nutrition for future generations is not compromised.

Our project aims to bring social and civic responsibility among the participants, encouraging them to be advocates for sustainable food production, and also making them aware of the importance of the individual in making an impact on society.
