Financial Literally for Youth

Asociația HESSA (Romania, OID E10316374) is preparing a KA152 youth exchange for the 1 October 2026 deadline (project start January–May 2027, exchange in summer 2027, 10 days, Iași county, Romania).

The idea: young people from rural areas enter their first job with zero financial skills. The first salary evaporates in days; quick loans and undeclared work pass as normal. The EU/OECD Financial Competence Framework for Youth (2023) defines the competences, but nobody has turned it into a 10-day non-formal programme for rural first-job youth. That is the gap this exchange fills.

Signature workshops: "Same salary, different life" (each national group collects the real cost-of-living basket of a first-job youth from their town before departure; together we build the same young person's budget across 6 countries), "Scam Museum" (each country curates its real financial traps: quick credit, buy-now-pay-later, undeclared work, betting) and intercultural salary negotiation.

Participants: 38 young people (16–25) + 6 group leaders from 6 countries, priority for youth at their first job or in school-to-work transition, including young people with fewer opportunities.

We are looking for 4-5 partner organisations from EU/associated countries working with rural or first-job youth. What we ask: recruit 6-7 participants + 1 leader, run a short pre-departure data-collection task, join an online preparatory meeting. Coordinator track record: HubLab (KA152, 2024) — 48 young people, 6 countries, final report 87/100.
