Fight Discrimination Against Foreigners In Prison

Fighting the discriminatory attitudes and prejudices of the guards aged 18-29 working with foreign convicts in prisons.

We are located in Istanbul as a training center affiliated to the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses of the Ministry of Justice.
We provide training on anger management, stress management, professional ethics, human rights, and communication skills for the personal and professional development of guards aged 18-29 working in prisons and probation directorates. Our aim is to develop the personal and professional potential of our young staff. With the trainings we provide, we support the education and training activities of young people who adopt international standards and universal ethical principles. Our long-term goal is to support the development of the guards between the ages of 18-29, who work in the process of reintegrating criminals into society, and to ensure that they become good role models for those who have committed crimes. Due to the increasing forced migration, there has been a serious increase in the population of foreign convicts in prisons in recent years. Due to negative news in the media and prejudices about foreign culture, the risk of foreign convicts in prisons being exposed to negative and destructive behaviors increases. It is aimed to replace the discriminatory attitudes and prejudices of the guards aged 18-29 with attitudes such as professional ethics, human rights and being open to multiculturalism.

The target group is the trainers who provide training to the guards between the ages of 18-29 working in prisons. It is aimed to improve the mobility and activities of youth workers and their educational skills to combat discrimination and prejudice. In this way, it is aimed to strengthen the education of young people in the fight against discrimination and prejudice by learning new methods that serve to eliminate discrimination and prejudices of the guards aged 18-29, who receive training in anger control, stress management, communication skills, human rights and professional ethics in our educational institution. In this way, the general goal will be to increase the integration of foreign convicts, who are between the ages of 18-29, to the area and society where they serve. The general aim of the project is to ensure the integration of both foreign and criminal individuals, who are at the forefront of the disadvantaged groups, with the community they live in.
