F.A.R.E. Project
At present approximately 6.4 million young people in Europe are categorized as young people who drop out of school.
In 2000, the school dropout rate in Europe was 17.6% and since then, there has been a reduction of 3.2 percentage points. The current school dropout rate is 14.4%. In some countries (Spain, Malta and Portugal), one in three youngsters prematurely leaves the school system. The answers to early school leaving must be adapted and tailored to specific conditions. However, some communities and community development organizations are able to activate territorial resources, even outside the education world, in order to offer a setting that can reduce the structural conditions for dropping out.
With the project F.A.R.E .: eFfort Actions of Research and Education, Caritas of Pescara Foundation aims at systematizing a proposal to integrate innovative activities into the traditional curriculum so as to prevent school drop-out by creating "bridges" between formal and non-formal educational practices and informing the local community about the issue. Innovative educational work will be designed, studied and tested by the project partners starting from the difficulties that participants face in their field of interest and territories.
The study and analysis will focus particularly on the Roma community and non-EU 1st or 2nd generation immigrants. The overall aim is to promote new intervention strategies and implementation methodologies through which you can evaluate and understand the efficacy of the proposal and its effects in the real contexts in which it will be used.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
This project aims to achieve the following objectives:
- A better understanding of the phenomenon of early school leaving;
- Learn, exchange and disseminate international relevant experiences;
- Propose and test models of preventive intervention to reduce the cases of drop in and drop out.
